PHYSICS LABORATORY

As we all know, physics is the study of the world of matter and energy and this makes the subject outstanding among other pure science subjects. Physics is a pure science subject and the study cannot be well understood without the practical aspect. The practical aspect is expected to be carried out in a special room called physics laboratory.                
First Citizens College Physics Laboratory is a unique one. All the required equipment or apparatus are available and the laboratory is designed in such a way that it can accommodate 30 students. The apparatus or equipment available at FCC physics lab include rheostat, potentiometer, resistance box, meter bridge, circuit board, jockey, thermocouple, thermometer, ammeter, voltmeter, rectangular prism, triangular prism, meter rule,vernier caliper, micrometer screw guage,lever balance, gold leaf box, stop watch clamp clamp, convex lens, concave lens e.t.c                                             

At FCC,the students are exposed to different aspects of practical work on each section of the topic. This allows the topic treated to be more interesting and give the student proper understanding. 

 CHEMISTRY LABORATORY

 Chemistry is one of the three major science subjects in senior Secondary schools, the other two being physics and chemistry. Basically, chemistry is the study of matter and its characterization.
Chemistry being a major science subject has found applications in many fields and careers. Some of which include petroleum and petrochemical industries, health services, agriculture, manufacturing industries, food processing and so on. Many excellent careers have their basis in chemistry.
At First Citizens College (FCC), we understand the importance of a good and strong foundation especially in the science subjects. And knowing that chemistry is more of a practical subject rather than theoretical, a well-equipped, standard laboratory is made available with up to date laboratory apparatus and equipment .
From inception, students are made to understand and appreciate the importance of practical work and each encouraged to work individually on experiments so as to gain the personal knowledge and appreciate the beauty of the experiments, with competent instructors to put them through.
At FCC, we do not just teach the students chemistry but train them to be competent chemists. A visit to the school will surely convince you.

 COMPUTER LABORATORY

The world today is information driven and we at FIRST CITIZENS COLLEGE shares this vision. That’s why we have inculcated Information and Communication technology in our curriculum. The school has invested its resources in this area thereby creating a state of the art computer laboratory to enhance e-learning. Presently the school can boast of a full air conditioned computer laboratory with the installation of 30 computer systems. Each class room has an interactive board to enhance e-learning. Our computers are also connected to the internet for students to have access to internet in order to source for information online themselves.
We are training our students to be inclined in the aspect of ICT so that they can compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world. From time to time, seminars and workshops related to ICT are organized for our students whereby experts on different fields come in to train the students. Our aim is to ensure that any student that graduates from the college would have been exposed to the several areas of ICT which will be of great help as they continue to aspire to achieve their dream and visions.

 BIOLOGY LABORATORY

 Biology is the study of life. This in particular makes the subject an interesting one. As a pure science subject, the study of Biology cannot be well understood without the practicals (experimentation/testing of hypothesis). This practical aspect of Biology is expected to be carried out in a special room called Biology laboratory.
The Biology laboratory is designed for experimentation in Biology.

FCC Biology laboratory is spacious enough to accommodate a large number of students, ratio of 1:20
FCC Biology Laboratory is well ventilated.
FCC Biology laboratory contains all the apparatus needed to carry out various experiments on different topics.
Take a look at some of these apparatus: light microscopes, skeletal model of man, bones of various types, preserved specimens of all groups of animals (invertebrates and vertebrates), prepared and unprepared slides, complete dissecting sets for the students, charts on various topics etc.
At FCC, our students are being exposed to practical on each topic and this makes the topics more interesting and lively. This gives them proper understanding of the concepts.
FCC Biology laboratory is open to all Biology students anytime during school hours most especially during Biology lesson. Our students are allowed to work on their own making use of the apparatus with little guidance from the teachers. This is called learning by discovery.
